Meet our Founder

Shonnet Brand, MA, BCBA, LBA

While earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology from West Virginia University, Shonnet began her career in the UK with students with severe intellectual disabilities. Upon graduating from college, she worked in a residential facility operated by the May Institute. She then started a school for students with neurodiverse needs in Portland, Oregon. Shonnet received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University, becoming one of the state’s first Board Certified Behavior Analysts. She continued her 25 year career by supporting at-risk learners, their families and teachers.  Since moving to Virginia, Shonnet has provided coaching and support to educators across Virginia for private schools, public school divisions and community partners. In more recent years, Shonnet’s passion has focused on compassionate care for families, addressing staff burnout and providing leadership coaching.  

When not hyper focused on ways to make our world more neuro-inclusive, Shonnet enjoys being outdoors with her college sweetheart, watching her son perform music and walks with her miniature pups.
